Acoustical Panel Ceilings

Many ceiling tiles are problematic due to indoor air quality problems caused by low level formaldehyde off-gasing. Additionally, when wet many of these materials support the growth of molds which can have adverse effects on indoor airquality.

A number of alternatives are widely used in Europe and are rapidly gaining popularity in America.

Armstrong World-Industries, Inc.

Produces ceiling tiles made from recycled newspaper, mineral fiber, perlite, and clay. Ceiling tiles have up to 79% post-industrial recycled materials. Armstrong also operates a ceiling tile reclamation program turning old tiles into new ones.
