The Cleveland Green Building Coalition works to improve Northeast Ohio’s housing stock by offering the following Green Residential Services:

Homeowners wanting to do green maintenance, rehab or new construction:

If you have questions about the health and safety of your home, environmental building issues, energy and water conservation and other green building concerns we will try to help you by:

• offering education to contractors, builders, developers and homeowners to grow their capacity to understand and do sustainable building in the Greater Cleveland area

Contractors and Builders Considering Green Building:

• Call for information about the Green Contractors of Cleveland which will soon have an office in our Center.
• Call for information about being a green builder and being included in future events directed at helping builders learn and use green building strategies (including personal tutoring, group meetings on specific issues, visits to sites where green techniques have been employed, and meetings with builders who have already accomplished green projects.

Building Officials:

• Call for information about green building codes being developed in our region and around the country.
• Call regarding a specific issue that may have emerged in a project under your community’s supervision. Questions about green materials, techniques and standards are welcome.
• Offer technical seminars and workshops to proved code inspectors and building officials with up to date information on green building techniques and strategies.

The Green Building Cookbook Website

We learn best by doing and this website does in-depth evaluations of green projects that have been accomplished in our ecoregion. Learn what is working best, what has not worked so well, and get downloadable “recipes” for green building for your own projects. If you have a project we could evaluate, please contact our residential consultant. If you have a project underway, we would love to come watch your progress and share that experience with others.
