Kaya, PE: Chief Technology Officer, State of Hawaii
the intersection of the economic and environmental imperative;
the challenges and opportunities we face; how Hawaii's quest to
develop renewables can help address regional and national challenges,
and how infrastructure investments and leveraged partnerships
can be used to achieve these long-term goals. The Hawaii Hydrogen
Power Park will be one of several examples of the investments
that are being made.

Listening
to Customers: How Deliberative Polling Helped Build 1,000 MW of
New Renewable Energy Projects in Texas.
This report examines Texans' opinions, collected in a survey regarding
environmental values, renewable energy, and energy efficiency.
It then shows how the group responded to the initial survey again
- after deliberating - this time on the basis of their informed
opinions. Utilities and regulators changed their level of interest
in and commitment to renewables and efficiency as a result of
what they heard from customers.
