When Cumberland
Development LLC transformed the former R&D site of Republic Steel in downtown
Independence into the Independence Technology Center, the aim of the project
was not simply to create a home for high tech industries. It was also to create
a green, sustainable facility that would benefit the developers, tenants, and
the local community. The 142,000 square foot Technology Center, located on 47
acres, incorporates the original 1957 Republic Steel research building, and
includes: low-e insulated windows, a geothermal heating and cooling system,
daylighting, shared tenant spaces, and access to the Cuyahoga Valley National
Park.
Join
us on August 3rd to get the straight scoop from the project team about the
real challenges and successes of this local green building project. After the
presentation and Q&A, join us for a tour of the facility.
